Alkan CIT, represented by Africa Chief Executive Officer Ahmed El Khashab, and Agence Des Energies Renouvelables Du Mali (Au-Mali), represented by Dr. Souleymane Berthé, Directeur Général De L’AER Mali, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the cooperation in renewable energy solutions in Mali.

The signing of the MOU occurred on the margins of a high level Mali delegate’s visit to Alkan CIT head office in Cairo, Egypt, which underscored the joint efforts to advance a sustainable, technological enabled and resource sufficient region, with a special focus on renewable energy and technology utilization.

Visit was organized by Alkan’s West Africa Sales Manager Mohamed Samir Abdel Aziz; Program included meeting with Egyptian International Motors (EIM) Energy team at EIM premises, site visit to solar powered school in Cairo, meeting with Dr. Mohamed El Khayat – Executive Chairman of New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA), Visit to Egyptian ELD lights factories and finally ending with the signing of MOU at Alkan premises.

The MOU reaffirms the long-standing experience of Alkan CIT Group in Mali, and builds on the successful cooperation, breakthroughs in solar energy turnkey solutions, and long term presence of Alkan CIT Group across the African continent since 1994. The MOU of cooperation between Alkan & AER-Mali will leverage Mali’s comparative advantage while supporting high-quality and sustainable development outcomes through effective and quality solutions in the field of solar energy applications and renewable energy including solar street lights, solar irrigation systems and rural electrification solutions.
