With the start of the year 1974, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Nosseir, a young Egyptian businessman, founded a group of companies that he named Alkan Group. Within the thirty years to follow, the Alkan Group grew to become one of Egypt’s leading private sector groups involved in a broad range of economic activities.

Alkan Medical is established, and very soon became a prominent agent and distributor for high ranking medical suppliers and key healthcare products’ companies worldwide

Soon after its establishment, EIM became one of Egypt’s most mature private sector operations, exclusively distributing and servicing more than 25 world renowned brands in more than 7 business sectors in Egypt, Jordan and the Region

Initiated 1st private sector car assembly operation in Egypt by starting the assembly of Jeep Wrangler at AAV in 1979

1st privatization in history of Egypt, Alkan acquired Pepsi-Cola’s bottler in 1991, restructured it, grew it and divested years later

Manufactures generic pharmaceuticals in both solid and liquid forms. Since its establishment, Alkan Pharma has positioned itself on top of the list of suppliers in Egypt.

With the rise of GIS systems, QSIT was founded, only to become over time a leader of Geospatial Solutions and Services catering for more than 15 different industries

Alkan became the 1st Air Taxi provider in Egypt, also offering aircraft maintenance services

Alkan Real Estate is founded, developing several plots in prime commercial and residential areas in Greater Cairo, including a prime location in front of Smart Village, 6th of October, Al Obour etc…

Established Egypt’s 2nd GSM operator in 1998, known as Click in joint venture with Vodafone; later renamed Vodafone Egypt. (divested years later)

Almatex is established for the purpose of manufacturing & exporting Egyptian high quality fine counts cotton yarns

1st to introduce Satellite Connectivity for commercial use in Egypt and owns a private satellite communications hub at 6th of October city. Thuraya Service partner in Egypt since 1998
