HOW IT ALL BEGAN?
Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Nosseir founded Alkan Group, a collection of companies, in 1974. In the coming five decades, Alkan would grow to become a leader in Egypt’s private business sector. In 1999, Mr. Nosseir established a holding company, Alkan Investment, as an Egyptian joint-stock company, which was again renamed in 2004 to Alkan Holding. Under one holding legal entity, Alkan Holding could be traded in the stock market, replacing private ownership with a solid corporate structure. The company’s legal purpose is to establish companies, contribute to its capital, and invest in marketable securities. The interests and activities of Alkan Group are diversified yet complementing and successfully operate in a wide range of business lines, covering a variety of business activities. The scale and depth of the group activities and resources have endowed it with unique flexibility that enables it to be proactive in coping with the economic and social changes.
